Black History Month

Since 1976, every U.S. president has officially designated the month of February as Black History Month, which is an annual celebration of achievements by Black Americans and a time for recognizing the central role of Black people in U.S. history.

Titans Celebrate Black History Month

This year in honor of Black History Month, Poway High is excited to celebrate Black History through the arts.  On Monday, February 26, there will be live “Jazz on the Quad” featuring the PHS Jazz Band performing music by black artists at lunch. Student art and photography highlighting Black and Afro-Latinos will also be displayed in the main quad and the Library will offer interactive book displays for students.
