All students must have a valid parking permit for the current school year to park in any of the PHS student lots.

PARKING REQUIREMENTS AND EXPECTATIONS

Start Smart Class Requirement:
- Enrollment in the Start Smart class is mandatory to be eligible for a parking permit. Click here to register for the Start Smart class.
- A temporary permit will be issued upon proof of enrollment. Attendance in the class will be verified prior to issuing a permanent permit.
- Sessions are listed on the PHS website under the Students section. You may also register for the Start Smart class in the Admin building or click here to register.

Documentation Required:
- A current driver’s license and vehicle registration must be provided at the time of permit issuance.

Permit Usage Rules:
- A parking permit is valid only for the person and vehicle registered.
- Permits transferred to another vehicle are invalid and subject to citation.
- If your permitted vehicle is unavailable, a temporary permit for another vehicle must be obtained from the Administration Office before parking on campus and at the start of school.

Behavior Expectations:
- Reckless driving is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate revocation of parking privileges and/or disciplinary action.

Eligibility Maintenance:
- Students must maintain a 2.0 GPA and a good discipline and attendance record to retain parking privileges.

Designated Parking Only:
- Students must park in designated student parking lots.
- Do not park in the Poway Center for the Performing Arts lot (PCPA), staff lots, visitor spots, or any other reserved spot at any time.

Permit Placement:
- Permits must be properly adhered to the inside, upper-left-hand side of the windshield.

- Poway High School is not responsible for any damages incurred while parked on campus.

Parking Availability:
- A parking permit does not guarantee a parking spot in designated lots. Construction projects or maintenance may cause temporary parking limitations.
